Meet Dr. Dean Chance, Gainesville Chiropractor
All too often, it’s the practitioner who gets all the information about the patient, and the patient gets little information about the practitioner and his/her practice. I would like to change that.

So, here’s a little background about who I am and how I came to be a chiropractor. I used to think I wanted to be a medical doctor. Even though I grew up in a chiropractic family, I took for granted how truly amazing chiropractic is. When other kids were getting sick, and on antibiotics, I would always wonder why they just didn’t get an adjustment.
It wasn’t until I was in college that my eyes were finally opened. I was a junior at UF, taking premed classes when my girlfriend, who was chronically sick, came down with bacterial meningitis. Her mother took her to the hospital, and for the first week, we didn’t know if she would live or die.
I was completely powerless to help, spending night and day at her bedside. Nothing that the doctors were doing for her seemed to help. Every day, they would give her more antibiotics, and through the use of drugs to try and to lower the fever. After watching her not get any better for a week, I asked my dad if he would come by and see if she needed to be adjusted. Sure enough, she had a misalignment in her neck.
He adjusted that single misaligned bone, and it was as if the power turned back on to her immune system. She went from struggling to surviving to healing. Less than a week later, she walked out of the hospital on her own power. It was then I realized that all the advanced technology and pharmaceuticals don’t matter if something is interfering with the power that made the body. is being interfered with. Shortly after that, I changed my educational focus from pre-med to pre-chiropractic.
My full name is Dean Ferguson Chance, I was born in Davenport, Iowa, while my dad was attending chiropractic college. We moved back to Gainesville, Florida, when I was two years old. I earned my bachelors degree in exercise and sports science from the University of Florida, and graduated in 2000. I returned to Davenport to attend chiropractic college, graduating in 2004. I am a fourth generation chiropractor. Our family history dates back to my great grandfather and great grandmother graduating chiropractic college in 1924.
I recently married my loving wife, Kristin, who is a fantastic chiropractor herself. We first became friends due to our shared passion for helping people through the wonders of chiropractic. I like to spend my free time golfing, tailgating, attending Gator sporting events and doing anything around the water.
I established my chiropractic practice in Gainesville due to the shared vision with my family members to “raise the bar” on the ordinary doctor’s visit. When a doctor takes the time to understand and look past symptoms alone, that is when true healing begins. My holistic approach uses time tested methods that are simple to implement and cost effective to manage. What makes this practice unique is my mission to guide you back to the state of health before aches and pains began. My promise to you is to identify any roadblocks to health, and fuel your body’s vitality by providing Chiropractic, Nutrition, Neuro-Emotional Technique (NET) and Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET). This 4 pronged treatment system has created a powerful breakthrough in results for problem cases, where other treatment systems fail.
I believe that what we do is a much needed service in our community, and it is my mission to help as many people as I can. Referring family members, friends, and co-workers is one of the biggest compliments you can give to a doctor., and we look forward to helping your friends and family. Referrals from our patients are truly appreciated. It is always an honor to serve those who strive to improve their health. I look forward to helping in anyway I can.
